What is 第一代 Initiatives?

在皇冠体育官网，59岁.7% of undergraduates are 第一代学生 and the 第一代 Initiatives Program in the 从教室到就业中心 (C2Hub). The C2Hub serves as a resource for current 第一代学生 as they navigate campus, 与校园伙伴一起. We encourage and empower the Roadrunner community to embrace and celebrate the intersecting identities of 第一代大学学生.

学生 who can gain a post-secondary education have more significant opportunities for better jobs, 高等教育, and significant contributions to their communities. 在密歇根州立大学丹佛分校, we recognize the importance of diversity when it comes to the next generation of leaders and highly value our 第一代学生 for their contributions to the student body.

Who are 第一代大学学生?

As defined by the Higher Education Act of 1965, the following definition is used by the 第一代 Initiatives when describing 第一代学生:

An individual both of whose parents or legal guardians did not complete a Bachelor’s degree;
Or in the case of any individual who regularly resided with and received support from only one parent or legal guardian, that parent or legal guardian did not earn a Bachelor’s degree.

第一个–Generation 学生 have intersecting identities that shape their experience. To best support them through their 大学 journey, collaboration with other university programs and services is essential.

第一个–Generation 学生 have unique experiences and intersecting identities. University policies, practices, and programs should be created with 第一代心中有学生. The goal is to increase education, awareness, and visibility of 第一代学生.
