金巢俱乐部

成立于2023年, the 金巢俱乐部 includes anyone who graduated 50 or more years ago from Metropolitan State College of 丹佛, now Metropolitan State University of 丹佛.

The club’s purpose is to honor and celebrate the 50th anniversary of each 密歇根州立大学丹佛 graduate, recognizing their service to the institution and preserving the history, tradition and development of the University.

Members of the 金巢俱乐部 will be invited back to campus for an annual luncheon and access to other exclusive events, 工作坊及客座讲座.

Save the Date for the second annual 金巢俱乐部午宴 on Friday, May 3, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Spring Hill Suites at 密歇根州立大学丹佛.

Anyone who graduated 50 or more years ago will be inducted into the 金巢俱乐部, and the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented on behalf of the 校友会.

 

2024 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner: 罗伊·亚历山大

现任副主席, and an independent director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka since January 2015, Milroy Alexander is former executive director and CEO, and former Chief Financial Officer of Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), where he was employed for more than 21 years. From 2010 to 2014 he was a business consultant assisting nonprofits and city government with their affordable housing development programs and initiatives. He has an established career in broad-based business and financial services, along with his extensive record of community service providing leadership, executive and management oversight to many organizations.

He is board chair of Northeast 丹佛 Housing Center, Inc., 他担任这个角色已经20多年了, advisory board member of 密歇根州立大学丹佛’s Accounting department and its 体育运动 Advisory Committee; and was recently board chair of the Lowry Redevelopment Authority for its last eight years of existence until its sunset in 2023.

Roy’s long list of community organizations and entities served as board member or other advisory capacity, also includes National Council of State Housing Agencies, the Congressional Millennial Housing Commission, 长者住屋选择, 住房科罗拉多, 科罗拉多州抵押贷款协会, 科罗拉多社区土地信托, 玫瑰社区基金会, 社区第一基金, 市证券规则制定委员会, City of 丹佛 Investment Advisory Committee, 丹佛地铁商会, National Association of Black Accountants, 婴儿潮一代引领变革, Metropolitan State University of 丹佛 President’s Community Cabinet and 校友会 Board, 丹佛都市联盟, 科罗拉多企业基金, 和其他人.

Mr. Alexander is the recipient of the 2006 David E. Bailey Small Business Advocate of the Year Award presented by 丹佛地铁商会. He is a former CPA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from 密歇根州立大学丹佛. He has completed the 丹佛 Community Leadership Forum program, the 丹佛 Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation Leadership 丹佛 program, and two University of Notre Dame Mendoza 商学院 Executive Development 项目.

The Golden Nest Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates a notable alum recognized as an outstanding contributor in their occupation by peers in their industry and is committed to acts of public service (e.g., clubs, charities, civic organizations).

金巢委员会

Join the 金巢委员会 to help plan and organize future events and communications. Members of the committee will meet quarterly with the 密歇根州立大学丹佛 Alumni Engagement Team to discuss future events, the Lifetime Achievement Award and ways to preserve the history of the University.
